One of the difficulties in studying housing evictions in Brussels is the lack of reliable and complete dataset. To overcome this, we have collected data from the different Brussels peace courts for the year 2018. This new database provides information on the number of families evicted by the courts, the geographical distribution of these evictions and the profiles of the people involved (tenants and landlords). The interactive maps below show the results.
The article “Housing evictions in Brussels: how many, who and where?” and the report “État des lieux chiffré et spatialisé des expulsions de logement à Bruxelles” describe the methodology and interpret the data.
