Mapping the evictions

One of the difficulties in studying housing evictions in Brussels is the lack of reliable and complete dataset. To overcome this, we are collecting data from the different Brussels peace courts for the year 2018. Once complete, this dataset will allow us to accurately estimate the number of households threatened with judicial eviction, to analyse the geographical distribution of this issue and to establish profiles of the people involved (tenants and landlords). The interactive maps below show the first results. As the data collection is still in progress, these maps are subjects to changes in the coming year.

The report “Mapping housing evictions in Brussels” explains the methodology of data collection and processing. Examples of eviction judgements are available in the appendix.
